At the MEDC, we support and celebrate local business expansions, new residential and commercial developments, and community projects. Below is a list of grant funded projects underway or recently completed in Morton.
Microgrant Recipient. Bringing a new store and providing new jobs in Morton.
Unum Fine Wine & Whiskey Lounge
Microgrant Recipient. Expanding services at the salon to include day spa services and launching a wine and whiskey lounge adjacent to it. Hiring at least 5 new full time equivalent employees in the process.
MicroGrant recipient. Will expand sublimation print operations, purchase new equipment and hire new employees in Morton.
MicroGrant recipient. Will consolidate operations and renovate an existing building with plans to add 7-10 employees in the next 2 years.
Hilcrest Dental Lab
Facade Grant Recipient. Removed cedar siding and replaced with hardboard siding.
Sucre Sweets & Socials
Facade Grant Recipient. Replaced garage doors, installed entry doors and replaced windows on the storefront.
Facade Grant Recipient. Paintedblockwall and installed lights.
Facade Grant Recipient. Replaced Garage doors.

Carius Dairy Queen
Facade Grant Recipient. Replaced aging signage.

Painted block & brick, installed new metal on their building facade.
Academy of Fretted Instruments
Replaced windows and the front door of the shop.
Facade Grant Recipient. New Signage, front door and awnings.
Ann's On The Side
Renovated an existing structure to open a new clothing boutique.
Safari Bowl, Inc.
Addedafull service commercial kitchen to their existing facility, updating plumbing, electrical and equipment too.
Expanded their catering and home delivery services to provide grab-and-go lunches that are pre-prepared and ready for pickup.
Plank Pilates Studio
Purchased a Studio Reformer (exercise equipment) to increase class offerings and instructor classes.
Launched a new design and construction company (architectural design, engineering, real estate development and construction management services) in downtown Morton.
Installed new exterior wall signage on the front of the building.
Installed awning over the walkway to the building's entrance.
Replaced the concrete pad in front of their building. They also installed a pergola and new brick planters.
Chris' Barber Shop
Installed storefront lettering and window covering.
A Perfect Promotion
Refurbished exterior awning and replaced concrete steps.
Warehouse expansion by 53,000sf expansion
First Farm Credit Union
New office and drive through
New Location, larger facility for Pizza Ranch who will also hire 25 additional employees. Banquet facilities will be much largerthanoriginal building.
Yinlun PURItech Emission Technologies
A Chinese/ German Joint Venture company Yinlun PURItech Emission Technologies, Inc. (YPET) has selected Morton for their US operations. They will be housed with Yinlun Machinery and plan to begin production in May.
The Villas of Hollybrook
New 50 unit assisted living facility located on the corner of North Main and Highland Street and will create 30 new jobs.
Amish Choice Wood Furniture
New 4700 square foot retail space and showroom. The new store will feature all Amish madehard wood furniture including bedroom sets, tables, hutches, desks, chairs, youth furniture and more.
Millenium Professional Services
Was awarded two large IDOT projects, therefore expanding with 15 new employees. They received a Tazewell County Revolving Loan.
Larry Webber Construction
Awarded the I-74 and I-155 IDOT project including revamping of Morton Avenue. They have hired 150 new employees for this 3 years project.
Johnson's Floral received a Morton Micro-Grant to assist in an extensive remodel,technologyimprovements, and staff expansion.
Farm and Fleet
Blain’s Farm & Fleet plans to build a new 127,000 square foot store and remain in Village of Morton. Blain’s Farm & Fleet has been a member of the Morton community since 1974. The new store will be located on the south side of Courtland Avenue at the intersection of North Morton Avenue
The Savory House
New eatery on Main Street. Providing new menu items and serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Will begin construction of a new 120,000sf manufacturing/warehouse facility that will manufacture new integrated farming systems. They will employ 35 new employees, slated to begin operations fourth quarter, 2013.
So Chic Boutique
SoChicBoutiquewillcarryhigh end party planning supplies
including invitations, decorations, cake and cupcake liners, guest
books, card holders, holiday entertaining décor and supplies, and more. A boutique versions of
inventory a big box party supply store might carry.
Sherwin Williams will take 4,000sf of space of a new development that broke ground. This store offers paint supplies both for residential and commercial needs. They plan to open the store in January, 2014.
Sandridge Food Corporation has acquired a majority interest in RMH Foods, thereby leveraging Sandridge's strategy to produce innovative solutions for a growing customer base that demands fresh, great tasting food. Sandridge was able to secure a DCEO Edge Grant through the State of IL to assist in this acquisition.
Morton Rentals received a $2,500 Morton MicroGrant to assist in the purchase a large enclosed trailer. With an additional deliverytrailer Morton Rentals will be able to accept more rentals and provide quicker service to their customers.
Wines 'N More
Wine's N More is the recipient of a Morton MicroGrant in the amount of $1,500 for the purpose of purchasing needed equipment for their new Wine Bar, which will open in November in Downtown Morton.
Baolai Precision Machinery
Baolai is a precision manufacturing company based in Tianjin, near Beijing. They manufacture and assemble parts for industrial and agricultural equipment. They announced they will be opening their U.S. headquarters hereinMortonbeginninginJanuary, 2014.
Inspired Arts Academy
Inspired Arts Academy is the recipient of a Morton MicroGrant in the amount of $2,000 for the purpose of purchasing lighting equipment for their new theater in their new location at Field Shopping Center.
RMH Foods-Assisted RMH in securing a grant with DCEO/Office of Trade and Investment to attend a Canadian Food Supply Trade Show to open up new opportunities for exporting
American Tire Distribution and Warehouse Center-Built a 120,000 sf warehouse and distribution center to better serve both their agriculture and manufacturing customers in the Midwest.
