Fourth Fridays – 40 Tazewell County Destinations and Counting!

Monday, July 17, 2017

Morton, IL:  July 2017 The Fourth Friday, Tazewell Art Loop has been growing steadily since its launch in May of 2017.  Initiated by the Morton and Pekin Chambers and the Tremont and Delavan communities, the Tazewell Art Loop now offers 40 destinations and the list grows monthly.

Fourth Friday destinations, including local businesses and organizations in Tazewell County are opening their doors from 5:00 – 9:00 pm on Fourth Fridays between May and November.  On these Fourth Fridays, shops in Tazewell County are providing interactive and fun shopping experiences for all to enjoy.  Some bring in musicians, like Kemps 208 in Morton featuring the Cousin Eddie Acoustic Duo in July or like the Rustic Roost in Pekin featuring “Bear the Voyager.”  Others feature Make and Take experiences like the Kountry Nook in Pekin and the Tremont Gallery in Tremont.  Or participants can enjoy special sales at Louisa Jane in Tremont and Treasures and More in Pekin.  The Ebenezer Art Gallery in Delavan will be offering handmade gift items that support organizations assisting orphans in Rwanda and Uganda.  There’s a little something for everyone.

For a full list of Fourth Friday destinations, visit the program’s Facebook page found at - https://www.facebook.com/TazewellArtLoop/.   Each month, Fourth Friday activities and locations will be posted on this site.  Walking maps for each town are posted too.

Anyone interested in participating in Fourth Friday can pick a starting location, ask for the Fourth Friday flier that lists all the participating locations in each town and plan to spend an evening perusing the participating shops.  Then put the next month on the calendar and visit one of the other communities!

“We supported the creation of Fourth Fridays to introduce Greater Peoria region to the amazing shops, artists, businesses and shop local opportunities there are throughout the region while also providing an avenue for community members to gather and explore.  Collaboration between Morton, Tremont, Delavan and Pekin has brought this fun opportunity for all and we look forward to sharing the Fourth Friday experience along the Tazewell Art Loop,” says Leigh Ann Brown, CEO of the Morton Chamber and Economic Development Council.

The Morton Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to strengthen business and enhance the community.  The Fourth Friday – Tazewell Art Loop is one of many ways it will promote our members, enhance our community and help develop a strong and growing economy in Morton and throughout the County.
