Morton Mentor Applications Due August 27, 2017

The deadline for Morton Mentor Applications is fast approaching!  APPLY TODAY!

Program Overview:  The Morton Mentor Program matches Morton CUSD 709 High School students with local mentors possessing professional knowledge, skills, contacts, and resources. Through these matches, our Mentors share their experience, guidance, and encouragement for students to develop their career pathway.

Program Goal:  The goal of the Morton Mentorship program is to establish a mentoring relationship where the student gains an understanding of a career or area of professional interest and is provided with the steps needed to follow the career path or explore the area of professional interest.

Planning Mentor Time:

  • August 27, 2017:  Due Date for application, be sure to include two references.  Background checks will be facilitated by the Morton Chamber.  APPLY HERE.
  • Pick a preferred date for an orientation & background check:
    • August 28, 2017 Orientation & Background Checks:
      - 11:30 am - 12:15 pm Lunch Orientation.  RSVP with Lenora at lfisher@mortonillinois.org
      - 30 minute background check - reserve your time on Volunteer Local here.  Contact Lenora if additional times on the 28th needed.
    • August 30, 2017 Orientation & Background Checks second date for a 45-minute training session and 30-minute background screening. 
      - 30 minute background check – reserve your time on Volunteer Local here.  Contact Lenora if additional times on the 30th needed.
      - 12:00 – 12:45 pm Lunch Orientation.  RSVP with Lenora at lfisher@mortonillinois.org
  • Attend Mentor and Mentee Kick-off Meeting:  October Date TBA
  • Meet with Mentee 3 times over the course of the semester.
  • Attend a Closing Reception – Winter Date TBA
