Champaign, Ill., April 2, 2010—USDA Under Secretary for Rural Development Dallas Tonsager and Rural Development State Director Colleen Callahan announced today that the agency’s funding will now be available to spur business development and job creation in Morton Illinois. Resources from a number of the agency’s business programs will be available to businesses, non-profits and public entities to promote business development in the entire Village of Morton.
A change in Morton’s status under USDA's Rural Development program guidelines has made the village eligible for grant and low-interest loan opportunities previously not available to Morton’s businesses and non-profits. Access to this funding can help Morton attract new businesses and assist local businesses.
