Morton Welding Sold to Local Group

Morton, Illinois – Effective June 26, 2009, Morton Welding Co., LLC is again a locally owned and operated company.  The Company was founded in 1946 as a small repair shop for farm implements and metal fabrications.  It has grown to become a leading Tube, Fabrication and Machined Component supplier serving the Off-Highway Original Equipment Manufacturing Industry.   Primary customers are Caterpillar Inc., Deere & Co. and Allison Transmission.

Morton Welding Co., LLC had been acquired in 2004 by a private equity firm and then merged into a larger group of other diverse companies operating as BHM Technologies, LLC.   While part of BHM Technologies, LLC, the Company continued to invest in state-of-the-art machinery and equipment developing it to become a globally competitive manufacturer of production and service parts for the industries it serves.

The locally based investor group includes area businessmen, industry executives and its Management Team led by Chris Ober, President.  The transaction provides an appropriate capital structure which will sustain the Company through the challenges of the existing economic environment and provide for its planned growth. 

The Company remains committed to serving the Off-Highway industry and expresses appreciation to its Customers, Suppliers and Employees for their loyal support.

As part of this ownership change and in recognition of the Company’s broadening manufacturing capabilities, Morton Welding Co., LLC will change its name to Morton Industries LLC.
