New Electricity Options Announced

With the recent barrage of phone calls from electricity providers from throughout the nation, it is difficult to know which provider to choose.  Here is our recommendation:

If you use 15,000 kwh per year or less:  Good Energy
The Village of Morton has recently enrolled with a buying group through Good Energy to provide electricity supply cost savings for residents and small businesses.  They are anticipating a cost savings of $125 - $150 per year for households and small businesses.  To take advantage of this new rate you will simply need to wait until May/June of 2012 to receive notice of the new energy supplier.  In the meantime, do not sign up with an alternative supplier or you will not be eligible for this program.  More information:  309-245-4566

If you use over 15,000 kwh per year:  BlueStar Energy Solutions
If your business uses over 15,000 kwh per year, you are eligible to move from Ameren to BlueStar Energy Solutions, the energy provider that the Morton EDC has chosen as a partner and the Preferred Service Provider of electricity for Morton businesses.  BlueStar Energy Solutions is an independent retail electricity supplier based in Chicago.  They were recently named the #1 Fastest Growing  Energy Supplier in the US by Inc.
