Retail & Restaurants

A variety of national retailers, restaurants, and hotels have chosen Morton for their Central Illinois location in the past few years due to the affluent demographics, fast growing residential sector, and the visibility from two major interstates.  Interstate 74 has over 51,000 cars that pass by each day, making the Morton/I-74 intersection the second busiest intersection in the Peoria area.

Morton Shopping Districts

Courtland Avenue
Courtland Avenue, a newer retail district, is located off of Interstate 74 at the Morton Avenue exit.  This distrct includes a variety of hotels and restaurants and a Wal-Mart Super Center.  Over 60 acres of land are available in this district for retail and commercial development.  For more information, contact the Morton EDC at 309-263-2491 or kuhlig@mortonillinois.org

Downtown Morton
Downtown Morton is a charming, historic district fillled with boutique shops, restaurants, coffee houses, a bakery, and a variety of financial and service businesses.  2011 will bring a new "Your Downtown Morton" plan that will guide the downtown's redevelopment effort.  You can follow this effort: http://www.hlplanning.com/dnn/Default.aspx?alias=www.hlplanning.com/dnn/morton. Field Shopping Center
Field Shopping Center is a retail complex located off of Interstate 155 at the Queenwood exit.  The Center includes a movie theater, several restaurants and taverns, and a variety of specialty shops.  Interstate 155 has an average daily traffic count that exceeds 22,000 vehicles. Morton Plaza
Morton Plaza is a local shopping center located near the Morton Avenue exit of Interstate 74.  The Plaza includes a Kroger Grocery Store, K-Mart, CVS Pharmacy, and a variety of speciality and service businesses and restaurants.  Plans are underway for a new strip center in this plaza.  For more information, contact the Morton EDC at 309-263-2491 or kuhlig@mortonillinois.org
